  1. This is release 4.9.3 of bind for OS/2 and emx 0.9b fix 4 (or newer).

  3. To install just the take a look a the standard bind documentation.
  4. The directory structure for the OS/2 port is laid down in named/pathnames.h.
  5. The EMX runtime and TCP/IP have to be installed.
  6.  
  7. You will find the executables in the source directories (named/, tools/,
  8. tools/nslookup), make install does (of course) not work.
  9.  
  10. Actual code is pretty unchanged, I adapted the makefiles, figured out a
  11. suitable compat/lib/lib44bsd.a, read conf/protability.h very carefully :)
  12. and while doing so my OS/2 turned into a unix-lookalike.

  14. Especially named/Makefile contains one bad hardcoded hack (I was unable get
  15. sed to work), I used tcsh 6.0.6 AND bash 1.12, to me, it seems that these
  16. shells lack some features :) - well I'm very lost when it comes to shell
  17. setup/shell features - I am awaiting  your hints...

  19. Look for __EMX__ defines in the code (you won't find many) to see what changed.

  21. I removed the contrib/, shres/, doc/rfc/ directory from the original
  22. distribution, some postscript files about DNS security were also removed.

  24. To do:
  25.   o either replace makefiles with REXX scripts or craft'em right
  26.   o include a working sample configuration
  27.   o find and fix bugs in the port
  28.
